I\'ve been contemplating on migrating to Canada for a few years now. But I\'m already 46 years old and I\'m having second thoughts as the days go on. My wife and I are both professionals and have grad school credentials. Do you think I can still make it? I really wanna hear how pinoys made it in Canada. Please advise. God bless you for putting up a site like this.

That is a tough call. Starting a new life in Canada can be long and tedious but for some it can be quick and rewarding. I can\'t say what the average is. For my peer group, I would say that most have been able to land a fairly decent paying entry-level office job within a year at the earliest to probably 3 years at max. Climbing the ladder and improving your income has many variables. Suffice it to say, you may not immediately feel the \"status\" you have in Manila..as this doesn\'t easily translate over here.
If I were you, I\'d look back and review what I do not currently like with my situation. From there, I will determine what I would like to see happen. I am told that processing time to immigration takes many years, so it is reasonable to assume that you may see yourself having to start a new life at 50 and over. I am not saying that you cannot achieve a satisfying life in Canada if you start at 50. What I would like to suggest is that Canada should not be your only path to achieving the things you want to happen for yourself. So you can have another option, then submit an application and decide once you get an approval. I would also suggest to pray for guidance through meditation. Good luck.

Thanks for the advise. It sure gave me a different point of view of my current situation. However, the one thing that\'s really pushing me to do this is my four year old adoptive daughter. I reckon she will have a better chance of having a good life in Canada. It is not that I dont love the Philippines. It is just that I\'ve seen so many wasted talents because of unequal opportunities here. As for me and my wife, we really don\'t mind if we have to start all over again for as long as our bodies allow us and we are given the chance to prove ourselves. Both of us came from the ranks anyways. We\'ve been there so to speak. I would like to be assured though of my chances of making it. I dont want to risk my daughters future. Yeah, i know it is really a tough call that\'s why I would like to read more stories of Pinoys in Canada through your website. Thanks... :)

I have asked for stories from my Pinoy friends, peers and relatives in Canada . I should be able to start posting some articles in the coming weeks. Stay tuned! In the meantime, I would encourage other Pinoy Canadians who visit this site to share your stories.

My wife\'s persistence for a new life as immigrant lead me to your site, and I am thankful that our fears talked openly, discussed, and answered well. The consultant\'s asurance that it is faster to get one\'s visa these days (compared before before) intensifies that desire even more. At habang lumalakas ang drive nya, secretly lumalakas din ang kaba ko, pero hindi lang ako nagpapahalata. Wala kasi kaming kamag-anak don, at kung kaibigan man, malamang dito ko na makikila sa site na ito! :D

Salamat at may taong nagmamalasakit sa kapwa nya pinoy. This site is really of great help.

I am planning to immigrate to Canada as a Federal Skilled Worker or under the Federal Skilled Worker Program. But it\'s hard to find a job offer or Arranged Employment Opinion. What\'s the usual fee for an Immigration Representative?
